“Surf EP” is the result of a collaboration between the live Techno band Komfortrauschen and Berlin based Rocko Garoni. All tracks are based on jam sessions in their studio. There was not much talking, just plugging in our instruments and playing. Komfortrauschen and Rocko Garoni are friends for years now and often sharing stages in various clubs all over Germany. There is a deep understanding in what both sides want to express. Creating tracks together was a logic consequence and just felt natural. The first track on the EP called Xlime and its dedicated to the 90ies and Detroit Techno. This dance floor smasher is such a sick beauty between the past and the future. Surf is based on an Acid riff which is played on a guitar. Adding all the other elements just felt like riding a wave together. 55555 is a little bit more experimental with a great DnBish breakbeat tune and hypnotising shouts Reform complete the EP with an infamous remix of Surf, highlighting more the melodic elements.
