(Slam Remix)

Press Info:
Following Pfirter’s acclaimed debut album ‘The Empty Space’ on MindTrip, we asked a few of our favorite players in the electronic music scene to rework some of the album tracks.

The remix pack kicks in with a true Techno legend since the early nineties, Steve Bicknell, who gives an atmospheric and intergalactic new dimension to Pfirter’s When You Let Go. Techno-mastermind Matrixxman adds serious pressure to Isolation with his detailed rework, while Italian sound designer Oisel showcases his great studio skills with a very promising and uncompromised interpretation of New Physics.

This remixed edition closes with a massive peak time remix from Glasgow’s best known techno duo Slam on Pfirter’s A Different Reality. The Empty Space seemed to be a perfect canvas for these artists to give the original tracks a very interesting twist. Enjoy them!

This is MindTrip!

Press Info:
In the wake of their new album “Carter Tutti Plays Chris & Cosey”, Throbbing Gristle legends Chris Carter and Cosey Fanni Tutti present the digital version of their 2014 Record Store Day release “Remix”. Featuring reworks of four classics from their early Chris & Cosey days and a new version of 2000’s ‘Lost Bliss’, the EP reflects the material the duo has been presenting in their live shows. Saturating the 80s versions with contemporary production, Carter Tutti reimagine the sound of their industrial synthesizers, covering them under a veil of eerie ambience – Cosey’s characteristic vocals are drenched in reverb, even their techno pop love song ‘October’ has an uncanny feel to it.

Press Info:
Life in a capital city can feel at times anonymous. In 2017, a chance online meeting brought together two musicians with a penchant for analogue synthesizers, goth-pop and allout bombast. The pair’s output as Szalazar takes this rich history and propels it forward, through a marriage of uncompromising production and winding imagery. They hit hard, they shimmer. They’re swimming in layers – but never hiding beneath them.

What results is a soundtrack to reality falling away; from the heady highs of love and lust, to the honest depths of anxiety. Francisco Gonçalves Silva’s commanding baritone makes Szalazar feel at once wildly out of control and tightly choreographed, with equal parts charisma and madness. Just as they call out amid the Brutalist backdrop of Berlin, so too does their music: a collection of messages, growing out of concrete walls of sound.

The 12th of July 2019 sees the duo release their long-awaited debut EP, Grace , featuring singles ‘Pace’ , and ‘ Souvenirs’ . They celebrate the same day with a return to the live circuit, at Berlin’s ACUD MACHT NEU . Cited by Zitty Berlin as a band to watch, 2019 is the year the world truly gets to hear Szalazar – and once it has, it’s a hard sound to ignore.

And So We Crumble

Press Info:
“The Greek word daimōn derives, through the Persian dēw (…) from a probable Sumerian original * DA-IA-U-NA , meaning “having power over fertility”. The demon thus had the power of affecting, for good or ill, birth and death and the various stages of health in between. The medicinal drug had similar powers, and the Hebrew word for “be sick”, dawah , and its cognate noun in Arabic meaning “medicine”, come from the same root. So the demon of health and sickness and the drug are radically one and the same.”

The monolithic electronic album Daiauna was inspired by the meaning of its title and the strong connection between ancient religious practices and sexuality, fertility and nature in former times, especially starting from the Sumerian period until the 4th century. Magna Pia’s new album evolved from a completely isolated and gear-reduced studio time at Feral Note Salon and is leading away from his usual beat-driven techno to his “most honest music”, while keeping his characteristic aesthetics. For the first time he has included his original instrument piano in an electronic music production, where tonality appears as a contrasting medium to his archaic sounds. All tracks emerge from a similar source into different multilayered soundscapes which relates to the idea that each of us carries any tendency in oneself. The album will be available on July 12th, 2019 via streaming and download and as limited art edition vinyl. On July 17th, 2019 at 7.30pm there will be a release concert at St. Elisabeth (Invalidenstr. 4a, 10115 Berlin) which will also include the release of the art edition vinyl of Kubus (Robert Lippok, Kaan Bulak // FN004)

Magna Pia
Hüseyin Evirgen is a composer, producer and DJ. He is one half of Cassegrain and has been working on his own solo material as Magna Pia since 2016. He studied composition, piano and electronic music at the University of Istanbul and Mozarteum Salzburg and has composed music for theatre, dance performances, and mixed media for almost two decades. After meeting Alex Tsiridis at the Red Bull Music Academy in 2008, they formed the techno duo “Cassegrain”.

Since their first release on Mikrowave in 2010, they have worked with a variety of labels such as Warm up, infrastructure NY, Prologue, Killekill, Counterchange and Semantica. In 2016 they formed their own imprint called “Arcing Seas”, which is now home to both collaborative work as Cassegrain, solo projects as well as guest artists. As Magna Pia, Hüseyin Evirgen focuses on providing combative dance floor trips and unorthodox sonic moods with subtle 90s techno references while he keeps his interest in combining contemporary techno music with archaic symbolism.

Feral Note
The Berlin label Feral Note was founded in 2017 and is mainly focusing on electro-acoustic art music and contemporary chamber music. In each project the musical moment is on the forefront, not its production or an attempted perfection.

Each release pursues the creation of a collection of music and art with extraordinary composers, musicians, producers and artists. All releases are published digitally for streaming and download, selected releases also as art edition vinyls in limited series.
