Soil Records reach the first year of life with a defined line and structural principles essentially supported by an industrial, experimental musical environment of textures that fluctuate between extreme and spiritual conditions, and with a completely opposite direction to the ordinary cultural offer. The label represents an aesthetic committed to sound exploration and a renewed electronic scene.
Soil Records commemorates this anniversary with an album designed for the occasion that, in addition to bringing together an exquisite cast of producers, provides the public with the diversity with which the project moves. The reference evokes the concept of the label by checking the whole range of genres it cultivates and taking the cassette as the most optimal format for this type of release.
Exhausted Modern opens with Courage, a peaceful ode to EBM that takes care of every detail, from percussive samples, to melodic pads, synth lines or more significant elements such as simple and very accomplished vocals. Viktor Kalima assumes the role of performer with the eclectic techno and synthetic textures of Uninvited, and SOJ, shows with Harsh a cruder, real and primary part of the post-punk influence in European electronics. Space closes the A side again with techno, Infinity is an esoteric theme in which volatile chords alternate panorama and great tonal distances with an insistent and authoritarian arpeggiated landscape.
Hainbach inaugurates face B with The Inevitable, a solemn and extraordinary film symphony processed to the limit of degradation. Rrill Bell enters a field in which molecules are broken down into infinite particles, Apprehension Dub plays first and foremost with the perception of the human being and his capacity to assimilate countless signals. Froe Char surpasses the limits of everything allowed acoustically with Bright Exposition III with a controlled and extreme saturation.
