[NovaFuture Blog Exclusive Mix]: Finn Bønin plays Molekül

DJ:
Finn Bønin

About the concept:
Here is the sixty-fifth instalment of our series “abc plays xyz”.

The idea behind it is to ask some DJs/mixing artists if they have an artist or label in mind that they love and would like to use for a mix.

So the approach of each mix is clear: the choosen DJ/mixing artist makes a selection of tracks produced by one artist (and her/his monikers) or released on a label (and its sublabels) and creates a nice mix from it.

Find links to all instalments at our overview. Today we present you Finn Bønin’s mix of tracks released on Molekül.

About Finn Bønin:
Finn was born in Berlin but spend the second third of his life in Toulouse. Both cities took an influence on his passion for Techno and definitely shaped his style. Since 2015 Finn is resident DJ at MS Treue (Bremen) where he also hosts his own series of parties (What The Fog) and handles booking matters, social media appearance and their own podcast-series.

About Molekül:
Molekül is a French Techno label based in Paris. It was created in 2016 by Khoegma, and managed with JKS, AIROD and Mayeul. Despite its young age, the label has already left an imprint on the Techno-Scene – especially in Paris. Although, it is slowly gaining more and more attention in the German Techno-Scene, too. The label grows fast and appears to have a great future coming.

Finn Bønin About His Choice:
Although Molekül has found its place in the French-/Paris-Techno-scene, it seems to be rather unknown in Germany. When I first heard of Molekül I was especially amazed by their interpretation of Techno. The powerful tracks combine old-school sounds with acid and remind strongly of the roots of Techno, back in the 90s. Despite this strong recognizable line in producing, the artists bring their very own unique styles into the tracks. I simply chose the label for giving them a bigger platform of attention. I am personally very exited of what to expect from the label in future. I grew up in France as a teenager and started going out in the Club scene of Toulouse. The french Techno back then kind of shaped my understanding of Techno until today. Therefore I relay enjoy listening to the Molekül releases, which I think represent the French style in a way. It differs from the German styles in many ways.
