Swiss imprint SBIRE offers up its third release this September in the shape of Isolated Lines’ ‘Front Line’ EP.
Switzerlands Gwenael Magnenat aka Isolated Lines, although a relative newcomer to the Techno scene has been steadily growing as a producer over the past few years with releases on Tommy Four Seven’s 47 imprint and the Creaked imprint hailing from his home turf. Amongst this he’s been playing across the globe in spots like vurt. Seoul, Forestlimit, Tokyo and Mansion, Medellin amonst others, as well as regularly in Switzerland for many years now.
Leading on the release is ‘Particule feat. Gotshell’, a mind-altering opener fuelled by vacillating drum hits, grinding modular bass, howling atmospherics and glitched out synth bubbles to create an intense introduction to the package. The second collaborative cut with Gotshell follows, entitled ‘Dual’ and tipping the focus over to a weighty 4/4 rhythm this time, whilst stirring in metallic synth chimes and menacing bass drones throughout.
Isolated Lines goes solo on the flip side, firstly with ‘Trivium’ and its pulsating, broken drums, murky pad textures and resonant bleeps before ‘Tetrad’ closes out the package with cinematic strings, bumpy off-kilter percussion and dubby stab swells across its six and a half minute duration.
