Press Info:
LiveJam founders EMG and John Swing are back as Vinalog with three surefire dancefloor tracks on their vinyl-only imprint Relative this March.
The enigmatic brothers have been championing their signature analog sound for the best part of a decade, producing live into tape and pressing to vinyl. In 2009 the duo founded LiveJam Records before expanding into sub-labels such as LiveJam Limited, Warm Sounds, Experiential Learning, Relative, and more. A platform for their Vinalog project, Relative is firmly angled for the club and has featured Record Store Day collaborations with Mr. G / Phoenix G and Ben Sims / Hardgroove.
Drawing inspiration from the European progressive techno movement of the late 90s, Vinalog’s next outing is uncompromising and unsurprisingly raw. With its grainy aesthetic, ‘Tape Mix 1’ features a cacophony of shuffling percussion and whirring atmospherics whilst ‘Tape Mix 2’ rolls out an ominous hook before squelchy acid licks come into play. Finally, ‘London Cassette Mix’ is more effervescent in nature as intricate drums joins twisted vocal samples.
