About the concept:
Here is the thirtieth instalment of our series “abc plays xyz”.
The idea behind it is to ask some DJs/mixing artists if they have an artist or label in mind that they love and would like to use for a mix.
So the approach of each mix is clear: the choosen DJ/mixing artist makes a selection of tracks produced by one artist (and her/his monikers) or released on a label (and its sublabels) and creates a nice mix from it.
Find links to all instalments at our overview. Today we present you Fabula’s mix of tracks released on Parabel.
Fabula was part of the collective Syndikat // Unikat for 5 years and was responsible for promoting the events and booking the DJs in Dresden and Leipzig. For sure he also work as DJ himself.
In October 2017 he started the podcast series RuheCast, a mix series for ambient music, released every two week on a Monday.
Parabel is a booking agency and label based in Stockholm, releasing music from the artists in our roster. Joey Mull is strongly connected with Parabel.

Fabula About His Choice:
To me, Parabel clearly is one of THE labels when it comes to modern contemporary techno: the music always is subtle and minimalistic, yet never dull or flat, there’s always something special about each track. Although they work very well in a club, most of the tracks are in some way melancholic and introverted, yet never cheesy, which is something I appreciate a lot in my mixes.
