Coordinates have an interest to introduce and gather electro-techno music producers coming from different angles of the globe, bringing their idea and vision of computer technology produced music; based on influences, roots and social environment in which the artists has grown and risen up.
For the first event of the series, we move our “Coordinates” towards the city of LONDON, introducing a relative anonymous and very prolific artist: Ben Gibson who is running his own label DYAD records
Together with K_arim and Edoardo, both Berlin based artist, we will bring you to a state of different conscious, where the sound and the story have a narrative cultural touch.
About Ben Gibson
Ben Gibson arrived on the techno scene in 2006 with the deep and furious futurism ep of “No Signify” on Axis sub-label 6277, a genuine underground classic of the 00’s. After relocating to Tokyo from his adopted home of New Zealand he developed a reputation as a producer with a tough and complex sound. It was during this period that he produced “In a Realized Luck of Immanence”, the first album on Perc Trax and a precursor to the label’s move to a steelier, industrial techno sound. Relocating to London in 2010 Ben continued to refine his sound, developing an altogether more seductive and reduced sound with releases on respected labels M_REC LTD, Sect, Chronicle and Tsunami. In 2014, Ben launched the label DYAD with Fundamental Interaction as a platform for both their collaborative and individual work.
EDOARDO prefers playing timeless techno tracks on vinyl and creates unique atmospheres both within his sets and with his own music productions. His style is influenced by the strong Berlin – Detroit connection while also UK and Swedish sounds play a big role in the definition of his sound.
Behind K_arim hides a newcomer female DJ who got born in Eastberlin mid 80ies. Her musical roots are based on the Berlin club scene same way as they are to find in Hip Hop and Drum n Bass. Working for four years in Berlins most infamous techno and house club shaped her style a lot into a colorful idea of techno
She would describe herself with this few worlds: Hip Hop is the flow where I grow | Rimes are sometimes not so good | Ein Strauss hat viele Blumen | und Techno tausend Gesichter | Playing Djambee makes me happee.
