Mnemony is a record label and an art space that seeks an alternative approach to the tried-and-true club format by connecting experimental electronic music with visual art and dance ritual. We offer a platform for artists to cross-pollinate and operate outside the demands of single-genre club night monotony. Our aim is to break the wall of isolated listening and engage the individual in a deeper, connective musical and visual experience that animates the mind and body.
Mnemony’s first release comes as an EP by Berlin-based musician Jndrb [ˈdʒu:ndrɪp]. While working with his dream-pop project Mekka, he discovered a deep love for sounds, structures and electronic rhythms. After a lot of experimenting with waves and voltages, the time seemed right to release his first tale. MNY001 stands for inner balance, life and meditation. It reflects nonverbal feelings and communicates them thru waveforms. Three tracks built up three different worlds that bring you into a calm state of mind through repetition.
The EP tunes in with Ayana’s heavy kick, delayed to move forward. Crumbling spaceship sounds prepare the path for a deep journey and pulse like the beat moves forward. A long ambience outro transcends into a weird bass line of the now following Ḥāfiẓ. It’s trance’y techno feeling activates your body.
Progression, monotony, repetition accompanied by a constant spheric melody lets you see the world through blue glasses. Samadhi keeps this ambience and drags the mind down to an colorful meditative state. The mantra gives your mind some time to rest and tries to carry it out of your body, before softly returning in balanced happiness.
MNY001 tries to stay organic. Despite it’s hard edges it always keeps a warm atmosphere. Each sound has its predetermined location that keep the tracks together. Join us on a mystic journey through minds and emotions: humanity.
