Welcome to the fifth edition of the monthly techno series “modulate” at Arena Club. The April issue will dive deep into the climes of techno. Modulate joins forces with residents from Stattbad and ://about blank. A new project named “Arcing Seas” from Sigha’s imprint “Our Circula Sound” and of course one of our favourite regulars, Savart, will provide the setting for altering your mind.

About blank is a club that has always showcased impressive, high quality music. A very fundamental part of this quality are their resident artists. Akmê is one of the latest additions to their diverse roster. His sets are said to be “profound improvisational odysseys which explore deep planes of emotions” or simply: “Techno with a groove”.
Arcing Seas
This mysterious project first saw the light of day in 2013 with the 12” ‘Ophidian’ on Our Circula Sound. Hard Wax described it as “crafty, tripping Techno w/ experimental edged atmosphere”. Nearly one year passed until the release of their second EP on the same label: “Converging Prey”. A one take mix was published shortly afterwards and they debuted in Berghain early this year. Already being well established DJs they will provide a 3 hour set under their new moniker for this modulation.
Savart
Little is known about the modulate resident behind the “Savart” moniker. Apart from that he has a very musical background and is familiar with the principles of electrical engineering. His sets are energetic, well arranged and tracks are chosen wisely. Altogether a very promising new talent with some of his own productions to be released soon as well.
Viktoria
For more than a decade Viktoria committed herself to electronic music and Techno in particular. Over the years she developed her own pounding and energetic sound which found its channels on labels like LNDN white, Affin and Gynoid Audio. Since 2014 she has held a residency at one of Berlin’s most thriving venues: Stattbad Wedding. Her own imprint Viktoria Records was a necessary step and in February 2015 VR001 was released.

Willkommen zur 5ten Edition der monatlichen Technoreihe “modulate” im Arena Club. Die April Ausgabe taucht einmal mehr in die tiefen Gefilde des Techno ein und holt sich dafür die Unterstützung zweier Residents aus dem Stattbad und dem ://about blank. Außerdem werden Arcing Seas von Sigha’s Label Our Circula Sound und einer unser hochgeschätzten Stammgäste, namentlich Savart, für die techno-induzierte Sinneserweiterung sorgen.
Akmê
Das ://about blank hebt sich seit fast 5 Jahren schon mit der Präsentation hochqualitativer Musik hervor. Der außerordentlich breit gefächerte Stamm an Clubresidents trug stets einen großen Teil dazu bei, dieses hohe Niveau auch zu halten. Akmê ist eine der jüngsten Ergänzungen und er hat den Anspruch mit seinen “profunden, teils improvisierten Odysseen tiefere Emotionsebenen zu erforschen” oder einfacher gesagt: “Techno mit Groove”.
Arcing Seas
2013 veröffentlichte dieses mysteriöse Projekt seine Debut EP “Ophidian” auf Our Circula Sound. Vinyl Instanz Hard Wax beschrieb das ganze als “clever, trippigen Techno in experimenteller Athmosphäre”. Fast ein Jahr lang blieb es ruhig um diesen Moniker, doch dann kam die zweite EP “Converging Prey” auf dem selben Label heraus, ein Mix wurde auf electronic explorations lanciert und der erste Auftritt im Berghain Anfang dieses Jahres schärften das Profil. Abseits dieses Projekts sind die beiden Protagonisten schon sehr etabliert und werden bei modulate mit einem 3h Set aufspielen.
Savart
Über die Person hinter dem Namen Savart ist sehr wenig bekannt. Er ist ein Musikliebhaber und kennt sich verdammt gut mit Elektrotechnik aus. Seine Sets sind energiegeladen, die Dramaturgie wohl durchdacht und die Trackauswahl lässt erahnen, dass es sich um ein sehr vielversprechendes Talent handelt, welches wohl auch die eigenen Produktionen nicht mehr lange zurückhalten kann
Viktoria
Seit mehr als 10 Jahren hat sich Viktoria der elektronischen Musik/Techno verschrieben. In dieser Zeit hat sie ihren ganz eigenen, pochend-energetischen Sound entwickelt, welchem sie dann auf Labels wie LNDN white, Afffin und auch Gynoid Audio freien Lauf gealssen hat. Seit 2014 spielt sie monatlich im Stattbad Wedding und die Gründung des eigenen Labels Viktoria Records war eine unvermeidliche Entwicklung. Im Februar dieses Jahres veröffntlichte sie VR001
