Vienna? City of classical music? City of Falco? And techno? Mike alias Static Plate was born and grew up in the metropolis at the Donau in the 80ies. He had his first experience with a studio mixer, thanks to his father, very early but in the 90ies he was devoted to rock music; already infacted with techno music by his sisters but too young for partying long and pretty.

So Mike spent his time on the drums for some band-like acts before he was completely blast away by techno in 2011. Since that time he’s studied and internalised the music of Ben Klock, Speedy J, Drumcell and TommyFourSeven but also inhaled the atmosphere of several club nights at Berghain, Tresor or the event series by the crew of Grounded Theory at Arena Club.

This third and most recent release called “Static Sense” was released on the digital label Chamaeleon Records, like his earlier stuff “Broken Parallel” and “Strange Days”.
On “Static 001” the dark bass pushes the track onwards, hihats and cymbals promise salvation ? but no way, the bass hammers on and on. Over the dancefloor ? a short break and then you have to move on. “Static 002” starts a bit softer, screwing and ringing until the bass comes in and forces the people to dance. On and on, chased by hihats and ? cymbals. Different world ? if you compare it with the first track. Both were produced during the direct impressions of two, intensive club nights, his body still longing for dancing and moving ? so he created his own idea how these nights should have been continued.

Wien? Stadt der Klassik. Stadt von Falco. Und Techno? Mike aka Static Plate ist zwar Ende der 80iger in der Donau-Metropole geboren, aufgewachsen und hatte dank seines Vaters auch sehr früh die ersten Kontakte mit eine Studiomischpult aber erst mal gab er sich in den 90igern der Rockmusik hin, da er ? trotz erster Infektionserscheinungen mit Techno durch seinen Schwestern ? noch zu jung für ausschweifende Techno-Parties war.

Also erst einmal das Schlagzeug bedienen und einige Zeit sich in einer Band austoben – bevor es 2011 dann komplett zum Techno überging. Seither verinnerlicht Mike die Produktionen von Ben Klock, Speedy J, Drumcell und Tommy Four Seven ebenso wie die Atmosphäre von diversen Veranstaltungen im Berghain, Tresor oder die Grounded Theory Events im Arena Club.

Der aktuelle, dritte Release ?Static Sense“ erscheint wie die Vorgänger ?Broken Parallel“ und ?Strange Days“ auf dem Digital-Label Chamaeleon Records. Dunkel hämmert der Bass bei ?Static 001“ vorwärts, bis Hihats und Becken Erlösung versprechen ? aber weitgefehlt, es geht weiter nach vorne. Über die Tanzfläche ? kurze Verschnaufpause und weiter hämmert es. ?Static 002“ startet schraubend und schellend bis der Bass erlöst und den Tänzer treiben ? weiter immer weiter, verfolgt von Hihat und ? Becken. Verkehrte Welt im Vergleich zu ?Static 001“. Beide entstanden im direkten Eindruck zweier, intensiv erlebten Clubnächte. Der Bewegungsdrang ist noch da ? also weiter, weiter.
