The monkey on the cover says it all. Compared to the rather cute and peaceful cover of Modeselektion Vol. 01, this time it’s all a bit different. Most badass!
The music on Modeselektion Vol. 02 explores darker, more experimental grounds, certainly still with one eye focused on the trademark Modeselektor party-factor.
Featuring unreleased exclusive tracks by Monolake, Prefuse 73, Mouse on Mars, Clark, Lazer Sword, Martyn, Siriusmo, Addison Groove, Egyptrixx, Anstam, Diamond Version (a new project by raster-noton’s Byetone and Alva Noto), and many more, Modeselektion Vol. 02 again unites some of the best names of the electronic music scene.
Modeselektion Vol. 02 will be released as a 3xLP (14 tracks), CD (18 tracks) and Download Version (19 tracks) on June 29 (UK: July 02, US: July 03).
As an introduction to the project there will be a 12″ single featuring tracks by Modeselektor “Maik The Chicken” & Martyn “Red Dancers” released on June 01.

Der Affe auf dem Cover sagt alles: Verglichen mit dem eher niedlichen und friedvollen Cover der "Modeselektion Vol. 01", ist hier ein anderes Kaliber am Start. Die Tracks auf der "Modeselektion Vol. 02" betreten dunklere, experimentellere Wege, auch wenn sie immer noch mit mindestens einem Auge das Markenzeichen von Modeselektor, den Party-Faktor, im Blick haben.
Auf der zweiten "Modeselektion"-Compilation finden sich bisher unveröffentlichte Tracks von u.a. Monolake, Prefuse 73, Mouse on Mars, Clark, Lazer Sword, Martyn, Siriusmo, Addison Groove, Egyptrixx, Anstam, Diamond Version (ein neues Projekt von Raster Notons Byetone und Alva Noto), Phon.o, Bambounou und natürlich Modeselektor und bringt damit einige der größten Namen der elektronischen Musik-Szene auf einer Platte zusammen.
Modeselektion Vol. 02 wird als 3xLP, CD und Download-Version am 29. Juni veröffentlicht. Am 1. Juni gibt es eine Vorab-12"-Maxi mit Tracks von Modeselektor und Martyn.
Es wird auch wieder einige ausgesuchte "Modeselektion"-Nächte geben, u.a. am 29. Juni eine Release-Party im Rex Club in Paris (Frankreich) mit Addison Groove (live), Anstam (live), Sound Pellegrino Thermal Team and Lazer Sword (live).
