Press Info:
lnspired by the myth of Echo and Narcissus, Shaleen translated the protagonists as well as their actions into musical and technical elements and created the tracks on this EP as part of an intense process of working through personal experiences, marked by narcissistic abuse and rehabiliation of the accompanying emotional trauma. The creative transformation of her experiences and insights into musical works was achieved using analog production elements.

Echo represents and enhances the emotional depth and resonance in the music. From the track titles to the elaboration of small details to the overall listening experience of each track, the listener gains a deep insight into Echo’s emotional world and what it feels like to be captivated by a Narcissist. The tracks are designed to reflect the dynamics and emotional spectrum of the myth. Echo’s infinity and reflection are represented by repetitive and floating sounds, while Narcissus’ self-centeredness and coldness are expressed through hard, distant tones. This concept allows listeners not only to enjoy the music but also to experience a story that appeals to them emotionally and intellectually.

With the title “Treatise On A Narcissist” hinting at the EP’s thematic exploration, the four originals by Shaleen are a masterclass in atmospheric, driving techno—built on powerful basslines, intricate percussion and an unnerving emotional intensity. This formidable body of work is then subjected to four distinct and high-calibre reinterpretations, each pushing the originals into new sonic territories.

Fiedel delivers a masterclass in raw, functional Berlin Techno. His “Treatise on a Narcissist” Remix builds on a foundation of caustic percussion and echo- ing metallic textures to create a journey into the machine’s heart, powered by monolithic kick drums and pulsating, hypnotic sequences. This is peak-time, strobe-lit intensity—a dark, unforgiving lesson in rhythm and propulsion. Mareena’s sophisticated version of Shaleen’s “Treatise On A Narcissist” strips the original back to its essential hypnotic core. It locks into a precise, relentless rhythm with characterizing sharp hi-hats, a focused, pulsating kick drum and creates a sense of deep, foreboding atmosphere by utilizing subtle, filtered synth drones and echo effects. Rosati’s Remix of Shaleen’s “Nymphomaniac” layers hypnotic elements, lead- ing to a massive, euphoric breakdown and creates a captivating, almost obses- sive mood. This track demands movement. It’s an unrelenting sonic journey characterized by a hard-thumping rhythm section that maintains relentless forward momentum. JakoJako steps up to deliver a nuanced and immersive re-imagining of Shaleen’s “Fused in Desire”. Moving away from high-impact euphoria, this remix focuses on dark, driving Techno. The textural soundscape features a powerful low-end as well as lush, evolving pads and shimmering, modulated synth textures that create a vast, emotional space to establish a profound, steady pulse. Designed for total immersion, this track serves as both a high-en- ergy peak-time weapon and a hypnotic journey for early-morning dancefloors.

Beyond the music, the artistic concept evolves into a multimedia synthesis of art. It includes a themat- ically inspired graphic artwork for the EP Cover, an accompanying lyrical contribution, and a video element dedicated to each original Track. As with the three original tracks, the three accompanying videos each focus on a characteristic phase and perspective of the relationships cycle covered.

„Treatise on a Narcissist“ explores the motif the Narcissist, whose me- ticulously crafted facade shatters as his inner turmoil explodes into apsy- chotic breakdown, ultimately revealng his true, unhinged face. „Nymphomaniac“ channels the figure of Echo, the Nymph. Depicting the protagonist‘s attempt to flee her inner conflict by wholly surrendering to a state of inebriation and physical ecstasy, seeking refuge in temporary oblivion. „Fused in Desire“ captures Echo‘s idealized fantasy of her bond with Narcissus- a shimmering, seductive vision, revealing to be nothing more than a manipulatively fabricated illusion.

Press Info:
Berlin-based new-wave and post-punk artist Luca Venezia, aka Curses, channels his long-standing passion for early underground club music through his Tutto Vetro project, an alias that allows him to dive even deeper into the late ’80s and early ’90s iconic soundscapes of Valencia, Frankfurt, and NYC. With Tutto Vetro’s new EP “Trust The Beat”, trance, post-EBM, Detroit techno, and progressive club elements are fused into a raw, emotional, and futuristic sound. With just one previous Tutto Vetro release on Spain’s Megabreakz (Oráculo), Trust the Beat is an exciting development.

This EP marks a return to familiar creative territory for Venezia, whose 2015 “So Strange” EP helped form the foundation of the Curses sound and cement his enduring relationship with the Slow Motion / Wrong Era family.

“Trust The Beat” unfolds across four hypnotizing tracks. A1. “Trust The Beat”, the title track, opens with an energetic, groovy melody and eerily distorted vocals that set its urgent tone. A2. “Wild Things” follows with an instantly dynamic, almost animalistic energy—an intense fusion of vocals and textures that feel both chaotic and harmonious, demanding the listener’s full attention. On the flip side, B1. “Wild Things (Fabrizio Mammarella Remix)” sees Slow Motion co-captain Fabrizio Mammarella deliver a fierce reimagining built on a driving rhythmic foundation. The record culminates in B2. “New Revolution,” an anthemic, ghostly journey carried by blissful pads and rolling, thunderous bass, merging emotional tension with forward momentum.

Lyrically and tonally, the EP seems to call out both the chaos and monotony of life; moments when the world feels overwhelming or uncontrollable. At the same time, this is contrasted by a hopeful invitation to trust oneself, recenter, and take agency. This balance of turbulence and optimism echoes Venezia’s ongoing exploration of the emotional core of underground club culture.

“Trust The Beat” builds on previous work released under the Tutto Vetro alias, including the January 2024 EP No Mercy (Megabreaks III), which pays homage to the revolutionary sound of late-’80s Valencia through breakbeat and electro-driven experimentation. Beyond the project, Curses has remained a consistent force, including a notable 2019 collaboration with Jennifer Cardini on a remix of “Surrender.” With over 100K monthly listeners on Spotify via Curses, Luca Venezia stands as a mainstay of the modern trance, post-EBM, darkwave, and post-punk landscape.

Press Info:
The Making of ElectroGenetic 2 – Nos Da: A Reflection on Memory, Sound, and Sonic Experimentation

Nos Da is both a personal document and an artistic gesture – an album that weaves together memory, family connection, and the creative potential of modular synthesis. At its core is my relationship with my father and the profound effect his record collection had on me. These records were never just sounds – they were portals: to feeling, to texture, to imagined places. I grew up listening to them. In fact, I like to think I started listening before I was even born.

The album’s title, Nos Da, comes from a childhood misunderstanding. Each night, as he tucked me into bed, my father would say “Nos Da” – Welsh for “Good night.” But I misheard it as “no star.” Even so, those words wrapped me in safety. Revisiting that phrase now, I understand what he was really saying. This album is my way of saying it back to him: “Good night, and thank you.”

The final track, ‘Parting’, carries that intention most clearly. After his death, I discovered a vinyl recording he had made in a booth, years before I was born. It was a spoken message for my mother before she left on a long journey. In it, he speaks of love and distance, and of being strong in parting. Hearing his voice again in that moment was deeply moving – and I knew I wanted to bring it into this album. I’ve reframed it – not to interfere with his message to her, but to honour our own relationship. In ‘Parting’, the piece becomes a quiet posthumous conversation between father and son.

Much of this album was made away from my usual studio. Four pieces were composed in a countryside hotel in England, using Eurorack modules like Maths, Mimeophon, Wogglebug, and QPAS. These weren’t being used as conventional sound sources—they were collaborators in sonic unpredictability. I let them speak, and followed where they led.

Six more pieces came to life on a hotel terrace overlooking the Aegean Sea in Greece. I was working with a tiny modular case, just enough to sketch and build. The peaceful, expansive atmosphere shaped the tone and texture of those tracks. A year later, I returned to the same place and created the final two pieces on an iPad – no cables, no patching, just immediacy and flow.

In sum, Nos Da is a record shaped by listening, by remembering, and by a desire to transmit meaning through sound. It is at once intimate and exploratory, fusing modular synthesis with archival audio, analog warmth with digital immediacy. It stands as a sonic farewell, a form of time travel, and a quietly radical act of reconnection across generations.
