Returning to Arena Club on February 19th for its seventh installment, Escapism once again puts on a night of quality techno.
Ryan James Ford will take over the primetime slot with his trademark sound of atmospheric techno that offers a hint of melody and melancholy. Originally hailing from Canada he has now established himself in the Berlin scene. This is highlighted by his releases on Marcel Dettmann’s famed label MDR.
Escapism is also more than excited to welcome Ken Karter for one of his rare live performances in Berlin. His steady stream of releases on his own imprint Kript Records has won him a loyal following, while his EP for Stroboscopic Artefact’s Monad-Series in the summer of 2015 garnered widespread praise from the international techno community. His music is as subtle as it is powerful and is unique in its hypnotic qualities.
On warm-up duties Escapism has secured the services of Border One from Ghent. His DJ sets are led by a unique sense of purpose, being powerful enough to keep you dancing, yet poetic enough to keep your mind engaged. Aside from his prowess behind the decks he also excels as a producer with releases on Wolfskuil, Ressort Imprint and Stockholm Ltd. Some of Techno’s most prominent figures have critically acclaimed him.
Once again, Escapism resident Manuel Münster will close the night with a driving, deep and emotional take on techno. With 6 years of experience and countless DJ gigs in the city’s various clubs he also holds down a coveted residency at Berlin’s home of techno, Tresor.
