Techno aus einer anderen Dimension: Bei ?From Another Mind? ist der Name Programm. Hier gibt?s innovativ-grooviges Tanz-Zeug zu hören, losgelöst von bleiernen Standards und schnellen Hypes. Seit einem Jahr ist die Reihe der ultimative Trumpf im Nachtleben. Und das wird sich auch so schnell nicht ändern, denn die Macher haben diesmal zwei Techno-Innovatoren aus Frankreich eingeladen: Francois X und Antigone.

Yep ? die Stuttgarter Elektronik-Szene ist bereit für Innovation. Denn das ewig Gleiche gibt?s ja schon seit langem. Kein Wunder also, dass die Reihe ?From Another Mind? seit einem Jahr zu den Party-Happenings schlechthin zählt. Hier spielen jeden Monat die wichtigsten Vertreter von glasklarem und gleichzeitig scheuklappen-freiem Techno. Sowohl altgediente, legendäre DJs als auch ganz frische Acts, und das aus aller Welt. Diesmal wird?s recht französisch: Denn das Team um den ?From Another Mind?-Mitbegründer SHDW hat diesmal zwei Pariser Top-Artists eingeladen.

Francois X ist Mitbegründer des Labels ?Dement3d?, das er 2011 ins Leben rief um für seine Definition von Techno eine Plattform zu kreieren: düsterer, brodelnder und drückender Techno, der gerne mal mit Filmmusik-artigen Soundkulissen aufwartet. 2014 veröffentlichte er darauf auch seine Platte ?Suspended In A Statis Field?, davor war er mit seinen groovigen Tracks auf dem Label ?Deeply Rooted House? beheimatet. Er war bereits ´ne große Nummer in der französischen Techno- und House-Szene, als vor einigen Jahren Marcel Dettmann auf den sympathischen Pariser aufmerksam wird und ihn fördert. Da wundert´s nicht, dass ihn seine Gigs spätestens seit dieser Zeit regelmäßig ins Berghain und andere bekannte Clubs in ganz Europa bringen.

Antigone ist seit 2011 auf dem Schirm der internationalen Elektronik-Szene: In diesem Jahr gab er nämlich auf dem Label ?Construct Re-Form? sein Debüt als Produzent. Wie auch Francois X steht er für dunklen, aber keineswegs schwermütigen Techno. Im Gegenteil: So nach dem Motto ?Sauer macht lustig? lösen seine darken Tunes und Sets absolute Begeisterungsstürme auf den Tanzflächen aus. Da er noch einen speziellen und experimentellen musikalischen Ansatz verfolgt, zählt er zur Avantgarde der französischen Musiklandschaft. Genregrenzen blendet er gerne mal aus, und setzt dafür lieber eine große Portion Emotion ein.

Nicht fehlen darf natürlich Gastgeber SHDW, der einen ganz spezifischen Mix aus Techno mit UK- und Detroit-Anstrich und weitsichtiger Elektronika liefert. Und dieser Mix kommt an ? er bespielt damit nämlich nicht nur regelmäßig die Romy, sondern auch angesagte Clubs in ganz Süddeutschland. On top gibt?s Obscure Shape, bekannt durch sein Release auf Pfirter’s Mind-Trip Label, und Sil-Antoine aka Silent-One.

While music in its definitive nature fills both space and time, creating environments in which we live and breathe, these miniature dramaturgies string together to become the screenplay to ones existence.

Sometimes chosen, and often times forced, these sounds influence the subconscious and designate emotions. Purposely flowing fluently through a spectrum ranging from theatrical to rapturous tensions that mingle through the night. Cio D’Or’s cinematic compilation for Semantica explores another side of techno, a niche home to Cio where each intricate sound takes a risk for the sake of progression.

This three-part collection unveils different sides of the tactful artist, as each are distinctly crafted to play contrasting roles. ‘Yocta to Yotta’, literally meaning from the largest unit to the smallest unit, radiates warmer atmospheres impacted by the eastern world. Telling fervent stories through broken beats and dub-like sounds it is fit for experiencing in nature.

‘After and Before’ is occupied with suspense as the drama builds through this instrumental composition with a focus on the piano and cello also sometimes beat-less. In this case moments of silence are cognizant of a convincing potency. By taking steps in dance and musical theater and cinema, Cio progresses her own work by combining electronic sounds and tangible instruments.

‘Floor X’ taking a journey through bleep and acid minimalism, a sort of indefinable endlessness still waiting to be discovered through a hypnotic reverie and the track ‘XXXIII’ embodies the voice of a supernova. Expanding on the motifs of dancers and dreamers swirling though the night, it includes an ode to a luminary figure in contemporary techno music.

The first chapter in the series will be ‘All in All’ an LP comprised of two parts both ‘Floor X’ and ‘After and Before,’ to be released April 13th 2015. The suite, ‘Yocta to Yotta’ will be out in an EP format May 18th 2015 along with a CD of the complete works. The final piece will be a special edition CD, comprised solely of the ambient sounds that were recorded in the making of the album plus some extras, followed by a remix EP.

Parallel zum vierten Geburtstag der Grießmühle geht Escapism in die 5. Runde.

Mit Stenny haben wir uns einen der Akteure vom Techno-Label der Stunde, Ilian Tape, eingeladen. Immer zwingend im Unterbau, aber dabei die Emotionalität nicht vergessend, passt der junge Italiener perfekt in das musikalische Konzept der Escapism. Nachdem er letztes Jahr im Juli zum Ilian Tape-Showcase im Tresor sein Berliner Live-Debüt gegeben und vollkommen überzeugt hat, freuen wir uns vor allem auch darauf Tracks aus seiner aktuellen Platte „Hagale“ zu hören.

Ebenfalls aus Italien stammt das Techno-Duo Korova. Wer sich aus Kubrick’s Clockwork Orange bedient muss dementsprechend liefern und so stehen ihre Produktionen für einen zeitgemäßen, dystopischen Techno der Bauch und Kopf gleichermaßen bedient. Zur Escapism werden die beiden ihren Berliner Einstand feiern und ein Live/DJ-Set präsentieren.
Vom anderen Ende der Welt kommt dann noch Sebastian Bayne angereist. Sebastian ist einer der Hauptakteure von Sydney’s Technoszene, konnte sich aber mittlerweile auch in Europa eine Fangemeinde erspielen. Nicht gerade leicht, wenn man 16.000km weit weg wohnt. Das spricht natürlich für seine Qualität, nicht nur als DJ sondern auch als Produzent. Zur Escapism wird er den Abend einleiten und 3 Stunden voller Deepness präsentieren.

Wie gewohnt wird sich Escapism-Resident Manuel Münster für das Schlussset verantwortlich zeichnen und dem Anlass entsprechend ein etwas ausgedehnteres DJ-Set spielen . Der Wahlberliner ist seit 2009 in der Technoszene aktiv und konnte sich vor allem dank Escapism ein breiteres Gehör verschaffen. Neben regelmäßigen Auftritten im Tresor folgten DJ-Sets im ://about blank und Leipzigs Clubhoffnung Institut fuer Zukunft, wo er seine Mischung aus Tanzflächentauglichkeit und Deepness präsentieren konnte.
