Over the last few years Selected has established itself as a main player of the Berlin Techno scene, representing new local talent alongside well-known acts. With ‘Various Artists I’, Selected is launching its own label, showcasing the sound of the events-series to everyone who can’t regularly attend the events or simply wants their dose of Techno during a time where clubs are shut down. Artists include both newcomers and veteran producers, as well as all Selected resident DJs. Across twelve tracks the compilation spans a wide range of sounds typical for Selected lineups – high BPM, rough synths, a wide range of influences, and a knack for complex sound-design being shared key features. While MCR-T, Gutter, and TRQ-30 contribute 90s sounding, jacking rave and acid to the compilation, tracks by LYRIC, Vermeer, Corium, and Zidané lean more towards modern atmospheric Techno sounds. WAST presents a raw Acid and Industrial inspired cut.
