Press Info:
A statement to the inexhaustible puissance of Marc Acardipane’s ahead-of-his-time genius, our thirteenth instalment takes us for a one off and wildly enjoyable detour via the classic hardcore scene to reignite the fires lit by two seminal and thoroughly essential bangers from his immaculate back-catalogue, remastered to their full potential. First in line, the originally 1996-released ‘A New Mind (Cold Rush Phuture Mix)’ proves it’s lost nothing of its implacably pinning, gravity-defying impact. Slowly but surely obliterating all will in you to resist the forthcoming tide in a blaze of whooping 909 punishment and screeching tyres, the second half finishes us off in a euphoric explosion of seesawing bass stabs and poly-octave rollercoasting. A raging anthem of its own recorded in ’92, ’The 2nd Coming’ picks up the flow and amps up the horsepower to weave a frantic ballet of steroid-infused sines, molten circuitry and all-devouring drums. 28 years on and counting, where are the disciples at?

Flip sides and here’s The Hague’s duo Ghost In The Machine taking on Rave Creator’s ‘A New Mind’; steering the original further deep into murky industrial rave waters. Emphasising on elements lifted from the track’s uplifting finale, the Dutchmen’s buildup aims at striking hard and striking sure. A no-frills, rugged-as-it-gets weapon of sorts, the revamp’s all set at plunging the dancefloor into the most dystopian of scenarios. Commissioned to add their big-room-ready spin to Mescalinum United’s time-proof ripper ’The 2nd Coming’, Italian outfit 999999999 (read NineTimesNine) unleash a fierce whirlwind of 303-brined pyrotechnics, light-fast machine-talk and breakneck old-school dynamics. The result is a brain-melting slice of hardcore techno tailored for extensive jump-around workouts. If some artists have a hard time staying relevant as decades succeed, this is further evidence that Acardipane’s sound retains the untamed, fiery brilliance it had back in the day, when it revealed to a whole generation of young ravers a world they could never have dreamt about.

This one in particular deserved a special, duly outstanding frame to shine, which is why it comes pressed to 180g audiophile quality vinyl, and clad in a pristine, silver metal package to please your eyes and ears in equal measure.

Press Info:
Picking up where they left off, Reclaim Your City draw first blood in 2020 with ‘Liquid Shards’ – a split 12″ epic courtesy of Den Haag’s TAPE co-founder Deniro and Brighton’s new sensation Rene Wise. On the menu of this masterclass in no-bullshit techno that moves in between plural states of consciousness, the two producers harness a double pair of laser-accurate rollers that pack some serious punch, trimmed, shaped and polished for optimum impact on the dance floor.

Taking the helm of the A-side, Deniro steps up with a duo of streamlined techno bullets that delve smack dab the cream of ’90s atmospheric and dubbed-out tech territories. Whilst zoned out opener ‘Shards’ cracks the mirror into an infinity of glassy textured synth splinters and solar-powered sub-bass moves, sure to lift off any crowd through some intensive, stamina-testing deus-ex-machina, pared-down banger ‘Static’ lets out the playful bassy bounce and bleep-laden engineering do the talk for a straight out bone-crushing workout that quietly engulfs everything in its wake.

Flip it over and here’s Rene Wise running the hoodoo down in truly massive 4×4 sensei fashion. Pulling out a nasty cavalcade of intestinally disquieting 909 kicks out the deepest blue, alongside mazy networks of verbed-out drums and heavily altered synthetic samples, ‘Liquid Dancer’ sets the boiler to eleven from the Baltic to Hawaii, which is no good news say the oceanographers. Bringing up the rear to this quartet of steady shooting havoc wreakers, ‘Juggler’ is no ancillary DJ tool but a much apt and functional floor squasher in its own right. Just let the pressure rise, people lose their shit a bit and throw these into the melee as a memo of how good techno is when done with such sentient genius.

Record comes pressed to a trichromatic marbled vinyl, folded in some neat cover art.

Press Info:
Two years after their debut drop as I Murdered on Mord, Berlin local Janice and US-born, Berlin-relocated Luis Flores reignite the flame with their hardline second outing and first for Reclaim Your City, ‘Blood In Blood Out’. Both schooled under the banner of mind-intrusive techno that packs a punch, the two have forged distinctively wild sound signatures, steering at a distance from weak-kneed raving pose and increasingly unsubstantial trends. As I Murdered, Janice and Luis explore the most severely trenchant facet of their respective universes, immersing their heavy-duty analogue wares through halls of noisey abrasion and further ear-splitting, gut-churning FXs to keep the adrenaline rushing in torrential downpours.

Comprised of two originals and a pair of remixes courtesy of boundary-pushing Canadian duo Orphx and Justin Broadrick under his JK Flesh alias, the EP plunges us in a wildly enjoyable kind of nightmarish, dungeon-like scenario. While the title-track makes for some Frankensteinian creature of sorts, electric riffs bringing its dead flesh to life as thunder strikes all over the place, Orphx revamp gives it a more straightforward, acid whip, cutting the raw gem into a further efficient, club-suitable weapon. Flip sides and ‘Insomnia’ unleashes the rogue, murdering stomp on a harsh EBM/cold wave-infused tip, with JK Flesh flying in on intruder mission for some last ditch heroics, breathing in a healthy dose of hyperventilating vox samples, knee-buckling breaks and face-melting junglistic moves in true Source Direct fashion. Buckle up and brace yourself, high-impact material all the way.

Press Info:
Back with its tenth iteration in near half a decade of intense activity, the Rotterdam-via-Berlin based outlet is set to enter a new aesthetic cycle, sloughing its old skin for a brighter, all the more edgy one. Not content with counting some of the finest names in today’s techno landscape on board in the persons of Oscar Mulero, Psyk, Sterac and Dimi Angélis, ‘RYCL010 – Amsterdam/Madrid’ is the occasion for Reclaim Your City to take a new breath and explore deeper the intrinsic values and key-words that make for the label’s very raison d’être: music, energy, action, city, quality, art, underground, activism, rebellion, global community.

A galvanizing slab of pumping 4/4 delicacies primed for extended dancefloor use – deftly navigating between deep-diving dubs (Psyk), nasty acid mechs (Sterac), proper brain-melting droney moves (Oscar Mulero) and off-axis bleepy stompers (Dimi Angélis), ‘RYCL010’ inaugurates the label’s newly-forged design signature, made of a combination of urban photography and a custom-made font, which will be a new trademark for the project and used for all future releases, radioshows and events, whilst tracing the contours to the label’s ever ambitious, next-level approach towards techno music. A way for RYC to openly declare its aspirations and goals, in letting people know that quality, passion and the love for sharing the music is all that matters.

Press Info:
After traversing the globe through epicentres that have established Techno as a genre thats here to stay, such as Berlin, New York, and London, Reclaim Your City digs deeper to uncover some more modern capitals that are bubbling from underneath like Stockholm, Buenos Aires and Madrid. The label only continues to expand into underground culture to deliver sounds from some of the best local talent of Tbilisi and Milan for their ninth release.

The A-Side presents tracks from Milan-based artists Wrong Assessment and Alfredo Mazzilli to showcase the strength in their growing scene. Wrong Assessment’s ‘Milano’ demonstrates a dynamic rave track with a prudent build, much like the Trance that graced Italian dance floors in the early 00’s, while Alfredo Mazzilli’s ‘Crossing Boarders’ paints dreamlike state with a harmonic array of synths.

With Tbilisi representing the records’ B-Side, the rhythms delve in to a much more unrefined state as Newa and Skyra deliver tracks which emerged from the recent political upheaval that swept the city. Newa’s ‘Easy’ is an irresistible groover with a heavy low end, while Skyra’s ‘Love’ is the epitome of peak time euphoria with its psychedelic-leaning whispers and addictive beat.
