#challengeaccepted: Alive is a project that aims at raising awareness to the increasing amount of violence that women+ face in different forms in their daily lives. We started this project by being inspired by the solidarity of women all around the world, who were against Turkey’s possible withdrawal from the Istanbul Convention.

While the rates of femicides and the violence against women are increasing day by day in Turkey, the fact that people are still discussing if the government should withdraw from the Istanbul Convention caused an outrage. The Istanbul Convention sees the violence towards all women as a form of gender-based violence regardless of the motivation behind it. It condemns all kinds of gender-based violence.

In Turkey, more and more women are facing brutal forms of misogyny every day, facing harassment on a daily basis; rapes and femicides are being normalized by the current system and these kinds of violence are becoming a normal state where women feel themselves even more helpless under the law.

With its feminist roots, the Istanbul Convention aims at strictly punishing any kind of gender-based violence irrespective of the motivation behind it, thus discourages the perpetrators who know that they can get away with patriarchal excuses. We should remember that the violence against women is political and it must be stopped by all means. This is the exact reason why we need the Istanbul Convention.

Just as many of the human activities, experiencing music is a shared form of action that has a strong cultural interest with the cultural background of the society one belongs to. As an expression and a manifestation, electronic music has a connecting as well as antithetical strength that mostly shade into a form of becoming one. In that regard we band together as artists from Turkey and from all over the world to break the silence. We are inviting everyone to stand in solidarity with women in their struggle.

The first release of PRIMUS introduces the very first vinyl EP of French Artist BXTR. The 4-track EP “Automata” includes two original tracks from BXTR, and remixes by Julian Muller & Trudge. BXTR’s fast yet emotional bangers define the sound of his musical vision influenced by the cyber universe. While the dreamy synths of Trudge bring “Carbon Skin” forward, Julian Muller’s approach on “Tears in Rain” converts the original track to a proper rave gem.
