Press Info:
1)
Fractal Void is a conceptual duo project based in Düsseldorf, Germany.

Their experimental music forms a mixture of electronic and contemporary compositions blended into emotional landscapes and unsettled futuristic elements.

Morphing field recordings to artificial organic signals, Fractal Void sculpts an auditory world from contemplative sensations to overgrown energetic polyrhythmics and expansive deconstruction.

The upcoming debut album „Elemental Collection“ puts field recordings of nature and anorganic sounds at the heart of each track.

During their live sets, Fractal Void create vertical reflections by processing sounds through software and interaction with real instruments in every unique musical performance like the Chinese art form Dishu.

The persons behind Fractal Void:
Back in 2008, their musical journey began with winning a Spectrasonics competition using field recording of a locker door, that was implemented as a bass synth. Their collaboration was continued as producers of the eight-piece electronic jazz project „Mothers of Guru“.

Marcus Scheltinga is a composer, producer and multi-instrumentalist.
Besides studying jazz trombone at the Conservatorium Hilversum and the Folkwanghochschule, he works as a musical director, lecturer and coach in 39 countries around the world. From ZDF sound design to live and studio performances with international greats, his own productions have included such as Grammy winner Larry Carlton and Peter Erskine. Mid-east and Indian inspired, Marcus is a true story teller as a dedicated musician and composer.

BORGBORG is a producer and DJ from Düsseldorf, Germany. She moves freely in different styles of electronic music with a focus on avant-garde driving techno, dark hypnotic vibes seamlessly blended with deconstructed beats, noise and timeless elements of IDM. She is a member of About Repetition, a group of artists dedicated to the research of repetition through artistic means, collaborating with a wide range of other collectives across Europe.

2) ….”sound-wise located somewhere in the field of musical tension between Experimental, Drone, HalfStep, and floor-affine IDM“…. (Genre-Beschreibung von Claus Bachor)

3) …“ it can be the similarities between two people that draw them together, but it’s the differences between them that create something special“ (Teil eines Reviews von Pan-Pot, den ich auch für Marcus und mich sehr passend finde)

Press Info:
In 2022 we journeyed to the center of the earth with Agartha, Lasha Chkhaidze’s first album. This time we go the opposite direction, and fly towards the outer edge of the atmosphere.

Atmos, the latest offering of the young and talented Georgian artist, sees him explore the ether. Subtle and intricate layers are weaved together on the course of six tracks. This ambient album offers a completely different artistic direction compared to his previous work. Where melancholia and piano dominated Agartha, we are throughout Atmos taken into an otherworldly environment. The LP’s atmospheric undertone combined with its glitchier elements brings it into a lightly psychedelic dimension. With its really beautiful soundscapes and subdued intricate ideas, Atmos will undoubtedly please listeners of finely written ambient.

Lasha Chkhaidze is a gifted musician capable of crafting evocative music, The Intergalactic Institute for Sound is glad to present his deeply immersive experience to the public.

Press Info:
The Intergalactic Research Institute for Sounds is proud to present Requiem for Robots. For this latest transmission, Florina Speth aka Schloss Mirabell joined forces with a group of robots that were built by Kay Sievers (versioduo.com). The musical question this record states is: “Who animates what?”

The physical body of these robots consists of a wooden cuboid, a single string around which a round, internally strung bow revolves, and a motorized finger which can press down the string. They produce sounds that are very similar to the cello. They display unusual characteristics such as motor noises, infinite sounds or sometimes scratchy and gruff qualities. In addition, there is the extraordinary level of kinetic expression created by the bow circling around the string. Taken together, precisely these peculiarities form a unique instrument profile, a character which is emphasized in the presented project.
Florina Speth, born 1983 in the mountains near Salzburg, started playing the cello and piano at the age of 6 and began studying music at the “University Mozarteum Salzburg” at Clemens Hagen when she was 11. She won several prizes and was part of orchestras such as the Bayerisches Landesjugend Orchester and Salzburger Junge Philharmonie. Always keenly interested in contemporary music, she loves bridging experimental arts with science. She composes and works with cello and cello robots. She regularly collaborates with Dasha Rush, Hüma Utuku, Nicholas Bussmann, Lucile Desamory and Larissa Lackner.

V2 Cello-1-robots
The physical body of such a robot consists of a wooden cuboid, a single string around which a round, internally strung bow revolves, and a motorized finger which can press down the string. Various parameters such as bow speed, bow pressure, finger position and finger pressure can be controlled via MIDI. The robots produce sounds that are very similar to the sound of a cello or viola. Due to their physicality, they exhibit very unique and unusual characteristics such as motor noises, infinite sounds or sometimes scratchy, sometimes gruff qualities, which in turn differ from the usual string sound of a cello. In addition, there is the extraordinary level of kinetic expression created by the bow circling around the string. Taken together, precisely these peculiarities form a unique instrument profile, a character which is emphasized in the presented project.

Press Info:
For our birthday episode, you can expect the techno fairies to visit ://about blank on February 11th. It will last 24 hours and be the opportunity to present the latest EP in our STAUB series. As usual it is a Various Artists released by Intergalactic Research Institute For Sound. These five tunes represent what you can hear at STAUB, music that ranges from leftfield to drum and bass, from ambient soundscapes to booming techno.

Once upon a time, a little girl felt something was missing in her life. She searched and looked everywhere in the world. As she longingly stared at the clear blue sky, she noticed puffy white trails behind airplanes. For days and nights she walked – sometimes ran – behind these sinister tracks made of vapor. Extraterrestrial entities seemed to blink in the darkest nights and approved of her mission. After a year she finally arrived at its source. When she asked around what it was, the answer was a word full of mysterious energy: STAUB.
