Press Info:
Fever Ray announces their new live album, The Year Of The Radical Romantics, out July 25th, and the accompanying The Year Of The Radical Romantics publication available for pre-order now. In conjunction with today’s announcement, Fever Ray presents the new single/video, “Now’s The Only Time I Know (Therapy Session).”

The Year Of The Radical Romantics is a document of the juicy, throbbing missives used to woo crowds from Sydney to Seattle on the globe-trotting There’s No Place I’d Rather Be Tour in support of 2023’s lauded Radical Romantics. The new album consists of live-to-tape studio versions of tracks from Radical Romantics in addition to highlights from 2017’s Plunge and massive new iterations of early classics performed by the musicians who accompanied Dreijer on tour — Minna Koivisto on keyboards; Romarna Campbell on drums; Maryam Nikandish and Helena Gutarra on keytars and vocals.

Radical Romantics’ riotous, world-building videos introduced an unforgettable cast of characters. Accompanying Fever Ray (aka the white-suited Casanova) are wannabe-womanizer Romance, clockwatcher Main, witchy Snusis, and axe-wielding bombshell Demona Lisa. The Year Of The Radical Romantics offers a culmination of these character’s arcs with a pair of videos directed by longtime longtime Fever Ray creative visionary Martin Falck. The visuals find the misfits navigating group therapy sessions led by therapist Ebba. These sessions are soundtracked by blistering versions of fan favorites from Fever Ray’s beloved self-titled 2009 debut album: “I’m Not Done (Therapy Session)” and today’s single, “Now’s the Only Time I Know (Therapy Session).”

From therapist and human improvement and performance boosting guru Ebba:

“Hello…?

You left mid session… I really think you’re in big, big need of my services.
I want this room to be… a sacred place, for healing,
Fill my own cup like the holy grail.

Your lives seem to be falling apart…
it’s like you always want to go back there, drawn to the bottom of the ocean?”

Press Info:
Maps has announced details of a new release, his long-lost soundtrack, Welcome To The Tudor Gate, out on Mute on 31 October 2025.

Welcome To The Tudor Gate launches today with ominous scene setter, ‘Chapter One’, which invites us in to this unusual album, recorded back in 2014 and lost until now.

The album is James Chapman’s soundtrack to a half-remembered film, watched late into the night and forgotten for years until nebulous stills and scenes came back into his mind -so to fill in the gaps, he decided to create its soundtrack.

He explains, “Inspired by a film that I was never able to trace, I set out to create a mysterious, strange and uneasy soundtrack, with a nod to the fantastical. I imagined a protagonist venturing into a foreboding land of immense forests, filled with mysterious beings – where magic is real, and witchcraft is feared.”

The album is a 40-minute piece, separated into “chapters”. It flows together with no gaps, following the film’s hero throughout their journey. ‘Chapter One’ depicts the ominous start to the journey, which will eventually end with a triumphant return, before disappearing into the night.

He goes on to expand, “The ‘Tudor Gate’ of the title was originally envisaged to be a ‘community’ or ‘cult’, influenced by films like Blood On Satan’s Claw and The Wicker Man. The music itself is influenced by ‘60s and ‘70s horror soundtracks to films by Dario Argento and John Carpenter but also to writers like H.P Lovecraft and the world of ‘weird fiction’.”

Welcome To The Tudor Gate – we hope that you will never leave…

Crimson Rain
(Club Version)

Press Info:
With “Crimson Rain,” Kalipo releases the final single before the arrival of his new album „Alles“, which will be out on September 19, 2025, via Iptamenos Discos. The track is a darkly shimmering piece of Dark Disco that strikes a chord both musically and thematically.

People say history repeats itself, and indeed, the collective sense of disorientation, crisis fatigue, and looming nofuture sentiment feels more palpable now than it has since the early 1980s. Kalipo captures this mood and transforms it into a melancholic yet danceable club track with emotional depth and substance.

Pushed forward by a pounding disco groove, flickering arpeggiated synths, and distorted guitars, Crimson Rain unfolds with a sound unmistakably shaped by influences like The Human League, New Order, and Eurythmics. Yet rather than resting on nostalgia, the track stays firmly planted in the now. It serves as a tribute to the era of EBM and Electroclash, forging a sonic bridge between cold retro aesthetics and a hedonistic present.

The song is deeply rooted in the thriving Dark Disco scene – a space Kalipo has helped define through his band project Dina Summer. Reference points stretch from Curses, Boy Harsher, and Local Suicide, to Sextile and Perel, reflecting the wide-reaching scope of this genre’s influence. At the same time, the track echoes the visual and emotional energy of the resurging Indie Sleaze revival, currently making a strong comeback in the United States.

Lyrically, Crimson Rain oscillates between escapism and apocalyptic vision. With a deep, deadpan vocal delivery, Kalipo paints surreal images of growing shadows, grey undead figures, and dancing zombies—metaphors for a nightlife that offers both refuge and the possibility of self-abandonment. The track becomes a symbol for the sacrifice one makes when venturing too far into the extremes—be it emotional, physical, or existential.

Yet despite the thematic weight, the song retains a sense of levity. It remains infectious, uplifting, and surprisingly euphoric. Crimson Rain is a bittersweet dance on the edge—somewhere between the ecstasy of the club floor and the emptiness that sometimes lingers just beneath the surface.

Press Info:
Kalipo announces his fifth solo album with title track ‘Alles’ on Iptamenos Discos!

The Berlin-based multi-instrumentalist Jakob Häglsperger has been one of Germany’s busiest producers for almost two decades. In addition to countless hits, six albums with his band Frittenbude and four critically acclaimed solo albums as Kalipo, he also co-founded the band Dina Summer – together with Local Suicide – another side project that has been making waves internationally since 2020.

With over 30 million streams and worldwide radio airplay, his solo project combines electronic intensity with emotional depth somewhere between club culture and indie aesthetics. Straightforward, driving beats rooted in krautrock meet striking melodies inspired by electroclash, house and techno of the 2000s and 2010s.

With five solo albums and a wide catalog of remixes and singles on renowned labels such as Ki Records, Get Physical, Audiolith Records, Iptamenos Discos and Heimlich, Kalipo has earned himself a firm place in the scene. His releases have been praised by media such as TAZ, Spiegel Online, Rolling Stone, Musikexpress, DJ Mag, Mixmag, Tsugi and Resident Advisor.

The new album comes with a good dose of darkness, floating guitars and a pounding beat. Kalipo sings casually about letting go of inner fears, relationships and everyday burdens, sometimes in German, sometimes in English. Without scaring off his fans, he once again manages a harmonious balancing act between club music and classic song structures on ‘Alles’.

The title track ‘Alles’ gives a good impression of this masterpiece, which will be released on LP and digital on 19.09.2025. In addition to the original version, there is also a club version that goes one better. With its thumping arpeggio bass and pushing string arrangement, this indie-sleaze hit is sure to get its deserved approval on the dance floor.

Press Info:
Mika Vainio and Ilpo Vaisanen formed as Panasonic in 1994 a hundred miles West of Helsinki in their hometown of Turku, Finland. Originally a three piece with Sami Salo, they have not only lost a member but also a letter in their name.

Now known as Pan sonic, due to intervention from the Japanese electronic corporation in 1997, the duo return to us in 2000 with their new album AALTOPIIRI.

Pan sonicAALTOPIIRI offers the listener a wide range of flowing, atmospheric sounds and rhythms. Recorded at their studio in Barcelona, the pair choose an improvising approach to recording their music. “When we are in the studio everything is recorded straight on to tape. We might do several takes of a song, but there are no overdubs,” explains Mika. Mainly recorded on analogue equipment, some of which is designed and built for them by long time friend, Geri Lehtinen, a physics expert. “For me the most important thing in our music is the sound itself,” says Mika. “The structure is secondary. For different kinds of tracks, of course, were looking for different kinds of sounds. But I still don’t know myself what is in a sound that attracts me. There’s some kind of nature in the sound itself, some kind of information.”

Mika and Ilpo first met in the late 80’s when Mika was organising illegal raves. Their long and productive partnership has seen them explore many different avenues. At one of the first live Panasonic shows an early band member swallowed a microphone. “We were just interested in what it sounded like in his stomach,” says Ilpo, “he started running into the wall and we were amplifying the sound.” Their first releases were for the Finnish label Sahko and they were soon picked up by Blast First. They have been invited to perform at venues and events as diverse as Angela Bulloch’s show at The Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Finnish Embassy in London (where they literally brought the ceiling down), in front of thousands of baffled New York clubbers at the Limelight and two Commes De Garcons fashion shows in Paris and Tokyo.

They also have a thriving art career & through invitation have produced sound installations for The Pompidou Centre & Cartier Foundation, Paris, The Haywood Gallery, London & The Walker Gallery, Minneapolis.

They also are developing a series of recording & live performance collaborations with other artistes, the first with Suicide’s Alan Vega was released as an album titled “endless” under the name V.V.V. in 1998 and they recently recorded with Einstürzende Neubauten’s F.M. Einheit , the fruits of which will be released as an album in 2001.

PansonicBoth Mika and Ilpo indulge in their own side projects and they have remixed tracks for the likes of Björk, 2K (KLF) and Riuchi Sakamoto & also release their own solo projects on various labels including Touch, Sahko & Mego.

AALTOPIIRI is an album filled with alluring, ambient frequencies and hypnotic rhythms. Tracks like Kone and Kierto stutter and groove, while elsewhere Aanipaa and Liuos provide lush, addictive pulses. They are often asked what the track & album titles actually mean when translated into English, but as they often invent or combine Finnish words the “definitions” become quite vague. For example, a legendary maybe mythological low creeping mist from a particular area of Finland or, a variant technological term for a certain aspect of a early radio wave experiments.

As Mika says, “There is no theory for Pan Sonic. We have no plan. We just make the music.”
