OECUS presents the second release of the digital catalogue. “OCSDGTL002 VA”, features five different artists from the roster, each with their own individual vision of the genre. A compilation full of surprises and thundering soundscapes.
The revenues of the release will be donated to a charity that supports work and education on gender equality.
Starting off with „Vision” from Alderaan, the VA is introduced with a track so well crafted, that its clean sound design makes you feel on a path of stellar sound exploration.
The second track from SLV „Finding the others“, is a relentless industrial stomper. Through distorted mechanics and brutal kicks, the heavy character of this track is pounding its way through the speakers of the listener.
The tension of the EP begins to rise with Monovsn’s „Fallout“. A storm of well placed synthesisers, carried by a light-footed, banging groove makes this slick, purist techno for compelling moments on the dance-floor.
Now the dystopian vibe of the VA reaches it’s peak, when Öspiel’s „Fallen Romance“ mesmerising synthesisers fly through the air. After introducing the track with an abyssal atmosphere, the clattering beat kicks in and is later completed by a shimmering melody and cleverly used percussions.
The last track of the VA „High Intense Music (Makes Me Sick)“ by Felicie feels like a statement. While the evil kick and distorted drums come crashing like a rusty wrecking ball, a sample repeatedly reminds you what this track is about: Raw energy.
