Das noch relativ junge Berliner Techno Label Modul kuratiert am heutigen Abend unseren Clubfloor. Die Blaupause zu ihrem Sound findet sich auf der Ende Mai erschienenen MOD10 Compilation, auf der Repressed Mind, Visum und Escape To Mars allesamt vertreten sind. Das Portfolio reicht hier von vollends hypnotischer Vereinnahmung (Luminary von Escape To Mars) über Oldschool Minimal-Techno Tendenzen (Repressed Minds Brtw) bis zum perkussiv schlackernden Teufelstanz (Visum – Fundus).
Terry Francis prägt die Szene demgegenüber schon etwa 20 Jahre länge und gehört zu den gestandenen Veteranen der britischen Techno- und House-Kultur. Mit seinen Labels Wiggle und Eye 4 Sound bewies er ab Mitte der Neunziger, wie zeitlos und voller Energie Tech-House sein kann. Die Platten von Housey Doingz, Silverlining oder 3 In Key zählen heute zu absoluten Klassikern und sind gefragter denn je.
Durch seine stetig wachsende Reputation wurde ihm bereits kurz nach der Millenniumwende die Ehre zuteil, nach Alt-Meister Craig Richards die zweite Ausgabe der damals gerade erst neu geschaffenen Fabric Mix Reihe zusammenzustellen. Von seinem Flow hinter den Decks hat er bis heute nichts eingebüßt und stößt konstant in neue Sphären vor, anstatt sich auf den Lorbeeren vergangener Tage auszuruhen.

The relatively young Berlin techno label Modul curates our club floor this evening. The blueprint to their sound can be found on the MOD10 Compilation from the end of May, on which Repressed Mind, Visa and Escape To Mars are all present. The portfolio ranges from completely hypnotic ventures (Luminary from Escape To Mars) to Oldschool Minimal Techno tendencies (Repressed Minds Brtw) to percussive chilling devil dance (visum fundus).
Terry Francis, on the other hand, has already shaped the scene for about 20 years and is one of the veteran veterans of British techno and house culture. With his labels Wiggle and Eye 4 Sound, he proved from the mid-nineties how timeless and full of energy tech-house can be. The recordings of Housey Doingz, Silverlining or 3 In Key today are absolute classics and are more in demand than ever.
Due to his steadily growing reputation, he was already honored shortly after the turn of the millennium, to compile the second edition of the newly created Fabric Mix series, after Old Master Craig Richards. He hasn’t lost any of his flow behind the decks to this day and constantly pushes into new spheres rather than resting on his laurels.
