Without doubt one of the finest and most critically acclaimed record labels in Europe, the history of R&S stretches back to the early 1980s. Groundbreaking early releases from the likes of Aphex Twin, Derrick May, Juan Atkins, Carl Craig, Joey Beltram and many more laid the foundations for the label’s consistently stellar global reputation as a purveyor of cutting-edge techno.

Fast-forward to today and the label’s legacy remains as strong as ever. Even despite a prolonged hiatus in the early 2000s, R&S has since repositioned itself as a more eclectic, yet equally forward-thinking outlet for some of the world’s most celebrated contemporary musicians such as James Blake, Nicolas Jaar and Nils Frahm (via his ‘Nonkeen’ project), while simultaneously retaining its original dancefloor aesthetic through uncompromising releases from the likes of Paula Temple, Blawan, Pariah and Lakker, to name but a few.

R&S Records, gegründet in den frühen 80er Jahren, zählt zu den erfolgreichsten Labels in ganz Europa. Die späten 80er und frühen 90er ohne R&S? Schwer vorstellbar. Zu den ersten Releases zählten mitunter Aphex Twin, Juan Atkins, Carl Craig oder Derrick May, die dem belgischen Traditionslabel aus Genth zu internationaler Bekanntheit verhalfen. Doch R&S war und ist nicht nur Zuhause von Techno: Und so fanden unter anderem auch James Blake, Nicolas Jaar und Nils Frahm (Nonkeen) in R&S eine Plattform für ihre Musik. Nichtsdestotrotz bleibt das Label seinen Wurzeln treu und bleibt weiterhin geprägt von hochkarätigen Vertretern des Techno wie Paula Temple, Blawan oder Lakker.

We’re absolutely excited about our next edition. This time we’re doing a collaboration with ESCH from Berlin, which is a well known collective for hosting regular events of deep-driving Techno at Berlins club Griessmühle. ESCH’s founder THNTS will play a b2b set with our friend and one of the Delusion founder Script. This night’s headliner is Akmê . Born and raised in Potsdam he got into electronic music into the 2000s, quickly attaining a foothold at Berlin’s ://about blank, where he got a residency since 2014. Having his latest EPs released at connwax and ://about blanks very own label, Akmês sound can be described best with being pushing straight-forward with a serious sense of friskiness.
