Where I Wait
(Kasper Bjørke Instrumental Rework)

Press Info:
Following on from the first tranche of remixes of Null + Void’s ‘Where I Wait’, this extra package pulls out yet more big guns.

For Null + Void, the project of Kurt Uenala, the Swiss born producer and multi-instrumentalist who has a long history of working with synth legends, ‘Where I Wait feat. Dave Gahan’ was a straight up highlight of last year’s album ‘Cryosleep’.

Here Null + Void himself takes on one of the reworks, twisting the original into a hard hitting electro bomb. Dave Gahan’s vocals float over the pulsing and punchy blips and bleeps to form a striking partnership.

The other two mixes are by Danish legend Kasper Bjørke, who opts for a more laconic pace – a chugging and playful groove provide the bedrock for the iconic vocals.

Bjørke also supplies an instrumental version to please the DJs, giving space to his exquisite production, right up to the compressed vinyl samples and detuned, fuzzy synths.

Press Info:
One of the undoubted highlights of the Null + Void long player ‘Cryosleep’ is the collaboration with Depeche Mode frontman Dave Gahan.

Null + Void is the project of Kurt Uenala, the Swiss born producer and multi-instrumentalist who has a long history of working with synth legends, and ‘Where I Wait’ further enhances that reputation.

Turning over remix duties to The Hacker – another long time collaborator with Depeche Mode and others, the French producer delivers a typically dark and driven take on the track. A mid paced groove unfolds with tightly programmed arpeggiated synths seemingly barely under control. Gahan’s iconic vocals float over the top, creating a powerful, poignant track.

Also included is a The Hacker’s Dub Remix, stripping back the vocals into a few dubbed out snippets and echoes, and focussing in on the tough groove, courtesy of the tight drums and thick, propulsive bass.

Press Info:
The upcoming album ‘Cryosleep’ introduces the world to Null + Void as a serious production entity in its own right – and the third single ‘Where I Wait’ more than solidifies that point.

Connecting with longtime collaborator and legendary Depeche Mode frontman Dave Gahan, the track is a haunting and luminous lament on lost time and the ghosts of lovers past.

Back in 2003 Kurt’s releases on indie electronic compilations such as “The Sound Of Young New York” caught the attention of fans and artists around the world. It eventually landed him a gig recording with Depeche Mode singer Dave Gahan, not to mention a long list of major acts such as Moby and The Kills.

The collaboration with Dave was especially fruitful —the two became friends, and it wasn’t long before Kurt began writing original songs for Depeche Mode.

His love for vintage synthesizers, dark electronic music, and exploring unusual chord structures was a natural fit. The more Kurt worked with Dave and Depeche Mode, the more time he spent at his Manhattan studio. He started writing his own shadowy, melancholic songs, filling them with angular beats and moody atmospheres. After a while, the basis of Kurt’s new solo project, Null + Void, took shape and ‘Cryosleep’ alongside ‘Where I Wait’ came to life.
