It’s been almost three years since Ressort Imprint label head Ekserd released his first and last solo EP to date. Now – in late 2017 – the young, drum-loving artist finally comes back with a new set of tracks and even a whole new label. DRIVE 99 will have its full focus on the tempo, the drive and the looks of the late 90s and early 00s, just the way Ekserd loves to play things on the clubs soundsystems.
We’ll keep the track descriptions a little bit shorter as the sound easily replaces the words.

With VOITAX X, we are entering a new era. This triple 12-inch marks a shift from the existing releases, by unveiling the artists who have contributed to the label to this day. This release, our 10th, premieres a full-size cover artwork – “Phanon”, a drawing by Rosmarie Barbara Weinlich. Rosmarie is a respected artist and good friend of the label. Her work has received global recognition and has seen her exhibiting in Germany, Israel, Switzerland, The Netherlands, Poland and the USA. We invited our friends, both new and old, to find meaning within this complex work and create their own interpretations of it for this compilation. The resulting entries were then carefully selected to showcase the breadth and depth of our sound, and to give the listener a deep and immersive journey.The resulting tracks, spanning three vinyls, showcase the breadth of the Voitax sound – bleak, industrial soundscapes, tripped-out acid and new wave excursions, obliterated dub, and abrasive, off-kilter techno all feature. This is a record that will be equally at home on a turntable in your living room as it will be booming out beneath a veil of smoke and strobe light.
Since the very beginnings of Voitax, we strived to build a platform that is not only for music but for all kinds of art. We want to create a place where like-minded artists can express their ideas without any restrictions. Today, this platform has become not only an established collective, but also a circle of close friends. We hope you enjoy this special release as much as we enjoyed making it.

Gutter is a DJ and music producer, who sees himself between musical genres. Rather than latching on one style, he is not averted from combining different styles or playing/producing diverse electronic music. As a DJ he mostly is focused on electronic music, such as techno, electro, house and jungle. When it comes to producing music, Gutter is not only into music he would also like to play as a DJ, but also producing music which is not meant for the dance floor.
Gutter was born and raised in Berlin and still lives in his hometown. Currently he is studying sound engineering at the University of Arts Berlin. He is part of the local imprint Mandatory, which he founded together with friends and he is also a DJ in residence of the Selected Berlin collective.
