Press Info:
German electronic originator Gudrun Gut’s latest solo collection distills a lifetime of persuasions and obsessions into a compelling 14-track statement: “Moment.” Stark, somber, sultry, and clever, the sides slide between ballad and lament, synth-pop and spoken word, anthemic and abstract.

Gut’s background as a key figure in Berlin’s first-wave industrial uprising still casts an aura in the music’s mechanized rhythms and frozen emotional palette but decades of improvisation and collaboration have deepened her sense of composition and melody beyond any easy genre categorization.

If anything “Moment” finds Gut’s muse at its most enigmatic, threading shades of motorik hypnosis, technoid laboratory, coldwave pop, glitchy gauze, and even a gender-bent Bowie cover (“Boys Keep Swinging”) into its eclectic web. It also showcases the depth and detail of her voice, reserved but suggestive, intoning blunt truths and opaque poetry in both German and English.

This is music of history and heartache, modernity and desire, alienation and expression, by a singular creative committed to the complexities of sound. – Britt Brown

Gudrun Gut’s story spans many years, scenes, and sounds, from the “ingenious dilettantes” subculture of early 1980’s Berlin as part of Mania D, Einstürzende Neubauten, and Malaria! to her twilit industrial pop trio Matador into an expansive solo catalog of later work scoring films, videos, and radio plays. Her talents extend beyond musician, however, to include founding record labels (the influential imprints Moabit Musik and Monika Enterprise), club nights (progressive electronic pop collective Oceanclub), and experimental feminist collaborations (Monika Werkstatt).

Gut also works extensively in the technical sector of the recording industry, as a producer. Recent projects have included collaborations with Antye Greie (AGF) and Hans-Joachim Irmler of Faust, participating on the advisory committee for Musicboard Berlin, and performing at The Royal Albert Hall with Âme as part of an Innervisions label night.

Press Info:
Tresor Club resident DJ Barbara Preisinger, who heads her own vinyl label Slice Of Life, presents her Deep In The Box evenings in Tresor once a month, whole nights of warm, kicking house and deep techno with cutting-edge international house DJs, something that fans of the night have come to thoroughly enjoy. From her hometown of Munich to success in Berlin, Barbara founded first the “scape” label with Stefan Betke aka Pole and became a regular DJ in many Berlin clubs. Her passion is to play for the dancefloor, mixing kicking house and deep techno – often incorporating the music of many notable friends and artists. Since 2009 her Slices Of Life label has been gathering momentum and is celebrating the two-part vinyl compilation SOL10.1 and SOL10.2 on the Globus Floor tonight, Barbara herself with three album contributors who are certainly no strangers to Tresor Club: Cab Drivers, Dana Ruh and Oscar Shubaq. For the 10th release Barbara Preisinger has gathered seven unreleased tracks by previous Slices Of Life artists as well by producers who have a relationship to the label through friendship, events and personal support. Each track presents the personal unique style of its producer, but all have a feeling for warm sounding organic house grooves in common, what Slices Of Life stands for since the label’s beginnings.

On the Tresor Floor: 138 is the collaborative project between Billy Garcia and Nathan Valle, owners of Los Angeles based Techno label TXTRL, are favorites at international clubs and festivals and have a number of buzzed out releases on their label as well. After having debuted in Tresor in the fall of 2016, and returning again in March 2017, we welcome 138 back for an extraordinary live set tonight. Fairly new to the scene, but already way ahead of his game, Netherlands artist Remco Beekwilder’s signature sound, clearly rooted in nostalgia, quickly marked his own place in the electronic scene. Early 2018 he kicked off his label Emerald with his Nightlife EP. Remco humbly pushes forward his vision of electronic music whilst trying to stay loyal to the rave. Emerald 001 is themed with eerie, rave influences and his unmistakable, warehouse-built kick drums. His numerous releases on top labels have been supported by top international artists and this has resulted in bookings in some of the world’s foremost venues. As one of the hinges of the 90’s rave generation, Italian DJ and Sonic Groove artist Max Durante’s sound and his presence have been fundamental for the early Italian Techno scene. Well respected as a DJ, thanks to his great mixing abilities, as well as a producer for his precious creativity in his recording productions, Max Durante is a true innovator of dark, industrial techno. From Rotterdam, Falhaber is a young producer and founder of Massacre who’s obsessed with hard pounding sounds and brutal distortions. Falhaber delivers an aggressive and powerful sound with an interesting build up and overwhelming breakdowns to keep the dancefloor going. His sets include interesting build ups and overwhelming breakdowns composed with Ambient, Electro, Breakbeat, Techno, Industrial, Rave, Early Trance & Hardcore. All these elements are perfectly brought together to take over the dancefloor and get the audience going until the sun rises and beyond.

Met Her At The Herrensauna

B2.
Met Her At The Herrensauna
(IBON’s Club Mix)

Press Info:
For our fourth instalment, Interstate welcomes Copenhagen’s Schacke. Rooted in punk and noise, the Danish artist grew into becoming one of the key figures of Copenhagen’s scene and inner part of Courtesy’s Ecotherm and newly found Kulør imprint.

On INS004, Schacke delivers three originals, exploring musical spheres that are both brutal and graceful. The opener “Cold Hands” kicks things off on a dark yet atmospheric note with driving percussions that make your body shake. “It Was All A Dream” is built around an irresistible synth line that is accompanied by angelic noises and winds. While this track blooms in its flow and drive, the short break shows what an exceptionally gifted producer Schacke is.

The flip-side features the title track “Met Her At The Herrensauna” which is the record’s most euphoric. Dazzling leads, shimmering synths and a somewhat otherworldy yowling loop drive this track which has all potential to create the special dancefloor moment one won’t forget. At last, IBON, another Copenhagen talent, delivers his take on “Met Her At The Herrensauna” by giving the original an even more clubby and trancy touch. The two combined make this 130bpm and upwards Copenhagen take-over complete!
